Introduction

Location: Janes Island State Park is in southwestern Somerset County, adjacent to the city of Crisfield. The test well was drilled within the mainland part of the park and is located in figure 1.

Objective: The objective of the Janes Island State Park test well was to define the number, character, and thickness of the aquifers occurring beneath the Park to a depth of 1,500 feet and to relate them to the water-yielding zones being used by the city of Crisfield.

Purpose of report: The purpose of this report is to make available the pertinent interpretive data obtained during the test drilling. To facilitate interpretation much of the basic data are summarized in tabular or diagrammatic form.
