Maryland ground-water information: Chemical quality data

Basic Data Report 10

Abstract

The Maryland Geological Survey (and its predecessor agency, the Maryland Department of Geology, Mines and Water Resources) has carried on ground-water investigations cooperatively with the U.S. Geological Survey since 1942. In connection with these investigations, ground-water-quality data have been collected from approximately 1,600 wells and springs in Maryland. This report presents previously published and unpublished ground-water-quality data in a singe volume. The data should be useful to well drillers, water-supply engineers, community planners, and local residents in the State of Maryland.

This report contains all of the chemical analyses of Maryland ground water performed in the laboratories of the U.S. Geological Survey through December 1974. Analyses of ground water performed after September 1974 will be published in an annual series entitled “Water Resources Data for Maryland and Delaware, Water Year 19__.”
