MGS hosts a Chinese delegation from the Maryland China Initiative

The Maryland Geological Survey presented an overview of the functions of the Survey to a delegation of approximately 25 Chinese leaders taking part in the University of Maryland's Maryland China Initiative. Three talks given by Survey scientists focused on specific topics including sinkhole formation in karst geologic settings, analysis of Bay-bottom characteristics for oyster-bed replenishment, and development of a GIS-based aquifer information system.
